Our Home and Interests. . .

We love animals and have three dogs: Pratchett, Amelia, and Rory (we're also die-hard Doctor Who fans!); and four cats: Fr!t, Aster, Petrichor, and Tul!p.

We live in an old, cozy farmhouse on 8 acres of forest, north of Fife Lake Michigan. The things we possess are useful and often found at the Goodwill or another thrift store in town. We don't worry if something gets broken--we'll either fix it ourselves or make something to replace it.
We’ve surrounded ourselves with great friends who are excited to welcome the newest member of our family.  Our house is warm and inviting—lots of art on the walls and books everywhere!  It’s the kind of house where spilling something is okay.  Messes are easy to clean up!
PictureBooks, books, and more books!
We both love to read. The walls of our house are covered in books. We travel when we can, spending time in Austin, New York, San Francisco, and a few weeks once in Paris! We find traveling opens our minds to new opportunities and new people and we know it will be an important part of our lives that we will share with our child.

Music is also important to us. Jason is a classically trained musician and Grant can remember the lyrics to almost every pop song he’s heard. It’s a good balance. We are both huge Regina Spektor fans!

Between the two of us, we hope to give our child an appreciation and love for art in all its forms. Whether it’s a trip to the symphony or the freedom to paint and design their own room, or the opportunity to take ballet or piano, we want him or her to have every opportunity to express themselves that we can provide.
